Blooming Through Design
Marianne is a graphic designer who believes good design should make you feel something, preferably joy, but she’ll settle for mild awe. Armed with tea and an ever-growing font collection, she turns chaos into clean visuals and ideas into color.
Before diving into the world of design, Marianne spent a year studying accounting, a time that taught her discipline, structure, and that she’d much rather be choosing color palettes than balancing spreadsheets. She then took a year off to work with pets, where she perfected the art of patience, multitasking, and talking to creatures who don’t talk back.
Her personal brand, KURA, is inspired by sakura, the Japanese cherry blossom, a symbol of growth, creativity, and fleeting beauty. For Marianne, design is a process of blooming: every project begins with inspiration, evolves through imagination, flourishes into blooming, and comes full circle in KURA, a reminder that creativity, like nature, is always growing and renewing itself.
